Dear Friends and Fellow Sailors,
Welcome to the second edition of our newsletter Finding Freedom.
We held our annual Finding Freedom Fundraising luncheon on Friday 25 August, hosted by RPYC, which was a huge success, enabling us to continue into the 2023/24 Sailing Season. Read more below.
We’re also busy getting ready for the upcoming season and our first day of sailing is scheduled for 18 October 2023.
I hope you enjoy reading this edition of Finding Freedom.
With warmest regards,
Gary Griffiths | President | Sailability WA
2023 Finding Freedom Fundraising Luncheon a great success!
Our 2023 Finding Freedom luncheon was held on Friday 25 August and with thanks to the generosity of members of RPYC, Sailability WA and our many guests, the luncheon exceeded all expectations.
The formal naming of the Liberty Dinghy Rob Carter took place and the luncheon was MC’d by Craig Ibbitson with special guest speakers Skip Lissiman of Australia II and Lorelle Hughes.

Congratulations to Genevieve Wickham and Grant Alderson
Genevieve Wickham and Grant Alderson were overjoyed at placing 1st in the RS Venture World Championship 2023 held in Rostock, Germany last month as well as finishing 3rd (on a countback with 2nd) in the Inclusion World Championship in the SV14 class. They had an amazing 4 days of sailing with Genevieve doing a brilliant job helming and Grant pulling the ropes! Congratulations to you both on your success. Read the Fremantle Herald article here.
