Sailability WA set to open our 2026/2027 Summer Sailing Season!

Our Committee, Staff and Volunteers have been active over the winter season in readiness for our season opening in October. With thanks to our sponsors AU Buckets, West Coast Civil and donations we can continue to provide our Supported Sailing Programs and grants to our members competing at both National and International events. Sponsorship opportunities are available if your business is looking for branding exposure to our sailing community Sponsorship Opportunity – Sailability WA.

A Healthway grant has been approved for the season ahead and you will see some changes from the Act, Belong, Commit campaign as we transition to Think Mental Health as part of the funding arrangement.

It is great to see our RX Venture Connect investment has paid off by helping Genevieve and Grant in their World Championship win. Our fleets are active with Sunday Sailing and there is a noticeable improvement in the sailing skills displayed.

A big thank you to Rachael and Kyllie for all of their administrative work throughout the year. I hope Rachael enjoys her hard earned break at Shark Bay. Peter Moore has been invaluable with his assistance as Secretary in keeping the association compliant and heading in the right direction.

As we continue to advocate for the proposed Ferry Terminal to be located at Jo Jo’s please join us for a Walk for Nedlands Jetty (JoJo’s), taking place on Sunday 20th September to meet residents, business and river users to see why we all believe Nedlands Jetty (Jo Jos) is the right home for the new ferry service. Refer below for more information. Thank you Graham for your continued contribution to this cause.

We understand our automated membership renewal may not have worked as anticipated on 1st September. Please refer below on how to Renew or Apply for your Membership and to Register for our Supported Sailing Programs.  We’re looking forward to the opening of the Summer Season and seeing you on the water soon!

With warmest regards,
Gary Griffiths | President | Sailability WA

Genevieve secures 1st Place in Germany

Congratulations to Genevieve, who was very excited and happy with her results at the RS Venture Connect European Championship in Germany and recognises the significant role that Sailability WA has played over many years of her membership to where she is today, on her sailing journey.

In 2005 as a Stroke survivor, she was interested in finding an activity and experiencing some fun, with an element of challenge to lighten up her life. This was when she discovered Sailability WA.

The very first day Genevieve returned home with her support person and announced that she was going racing was when the adventure began!  Genevieve wishes to pass on her most sincere thanks to each and every one of you for joining her in this journey. She is very proud and honoured to have sailed away with Gold at the RSV European championship

Walk for Nedlands Jetty (JoJo’s) – Sunday 20 September 2026

Nedlands Jetty (JoJo’s) could be the western suburbs new gateway — one ferry stop connecting three destinations: Nedlands, UWA and QEII and we need your support to help bring the ferry to JoJo’s.

Right in the heart of a community that already loves this stretch of the river, join us at the Nedlands Jetty (JoJo’s) for a Walk for JoJo’s fundraiser and see how short and beautiful the walk from JoJo’s to UWA would be. Meet residents, businesses and river users and see why they believe Nedlands Jetty (JoJo’s) is the right home for Perth’s newest ferry service.

$20 per person to register with a free sausage sizzle back at the JH Abrahams Reserve. Kids are free.

When:   Sunday 20th September 2026
Where:  Nedlands Jetty (JoJo’s), 183 Boardway, Nedlands
Time:     Arrive at 10am for a 10.30am start
Register here: https://events.humanitix.com/walk-for-jojo-s
